Aramex UK came away as winners last week at the annual Logistics UK awards, securing the International Logistics Business of the Year award.

Held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London, the international logistics specialists came up trumps on the night despite being pitted against tough competition.

Celebrating the achievements of businesses and individuals who have made a lasting impact on the logistics and supply chain sectors, the Logistics UK Awards highlights the commitment of those who work to deliver to customers every single day.

Aramex UK’s ability to demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness during a year marked by significant geopolitical challenges and supply chain disruption was what stood out to the judging panel at the ceremony.

The company has adopted a ‘not one size fits all approach’ by tailoring its services to meet diverse operational demands as well as navigate through both contemporary challenges and market volatility.

This allows the company to essentially act as an on-hand consultant rather than a typical supplier – enabling them to pivot quickly and adjust their strategies last minute to cater for any sudden issues that occur.

While it serves both large and small companies, Aramex UK has set out on making global expansion more accessible for SMEs, providing small businesses with a springboard to realise their full potential on the international stage through its dedicated SME programme.

Boasting a presence in over 600 cities spanning across more than 70 countries, as well as a workforce of over 16,000 skilled professionals worldwide, Aramex UK has been able to leverage its impressive network to ensure the movement of goods continues to remain flowing for its clients.

Haissam Badr, UK National Freight Manager at Aramex UK, who collected the award on the night, commented: “Since Aramex was launched over 40 years ago our position has remained the same – to tailor our offering to meet the demands of our customers, regardless of the circumstances.

"This longstanding strategy has been built upon the principle of listening to their needs, rather than assuming an approach that dictates how services should be delivered on their behalf, and during the past 4-5 years this approach has paid dividends.

“The market is changing. The frequency with which geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruption, port backlogs, turbulent weather conditions and capacity issues are occurring has forced a seismic shift across the industry and necessitated a more proactive and flexible approach.

"This has often meant we as a business have been forced to rip up the rule book and go against the grain at times to ensure our clients’ goods are delivered with minimal delay.

“To have our efforts formally recognised by a third party with the prestige of Logistics UK and their esteemed judging panel is a huge honour."
