South Wales-based plant hire specialists, AV Plant Ltd, has this month taken delivery of three Kubota U55-4 “L” specification zero tail swing mini-excavators.
Having purchased a U55-4 in 2014, his first Kubota mini-excavator in a 20 + machine fleet, owner Andrew Davies - a 20-year veteran in agricultural and construction engineering and plant hire – was impressed by the Kubota’s digging and lifting power and its versatility to work across different sites and in difficult conditions.
“Kubota’s auto-shift system enables automatic travel shift from high to low depending on conditions and terrain. Proportional control on both hydraulic flows, along with the ability to programme attachments into the machine, saves time and effort for when using breakers, augers and other attachments with the U55-4.”
Andrew has also been impressed by the layout in the cabin too like the air conditioning and a clear and easy to use digital panel, which gives him up to 90 days of operational history.
“We’ve received a lot of good feedback from customers who have been very positive about the Kubota U55-4, purchased from Chepstow in 2014. Current demand for mini-excavators is high, so it’s was an easy decision to take on another three units and boost our fleet.”
Kubota dealer Chepstow Construction Equipment, which also provides AV Plant with parts and service support, has been delighted with the positive feedback from customers to date.
“AV Plant’s customer base includes prestige house builders, civil engineering companies, local authorities, and ground-working businesses, and they all demand high quality, reliable and productive machine,” says Martyn Durran, Managing Director of Chepstow Construction Equipment.
“Kubota’s mini-excavators have the best residual values of any machine on the market, so owning a fleet proves to be a very cost effective solution for Andrew and, we are sure, is a factor that will keep him coming back to us again in the longer term.”
