Cold Chain Federation launches new emerging leaders programme

The Cold Chain Federation launches a new Cold Chain Emerging Leaders Programme that supports developing skills and experiences crucial to the industry’s leaders today and in the future.

Starting with two awards in 2024, the new programme will see emerging leaders working in temperature-controlled logistics selected every year to benefit from a range of new skills and experiences. The award winners’ year-long programme will include enrolling in a tailored leadership course, participating in the Cold Chain Federation’s definitive industry events, and experience in communicating through industry media.

Cold Chain Federation Chief Executive Phil Pluck said: “In our fast-moving industry, developing future skills is of the highest priority for every cold chain operator and the industry as a whole. We are delighted to launch the Cold Chain Emerging Leaders Programme today and to invite all CCF storage and distribution members to nominate individuals for the selection process.

“This new programme will help CCF members give their talented, hard-working people the chance to shine. It will also help build skills that will be crucial for temperature-controlled logistics leaders in the future within our industry. The Cold Chain Federation is committed to supporting CCF members in this essential mission. The new Cold Chain Emerging Leaders Programme will create exciting new opportunities for individuals and their employers.”

The Cold Chain Emerging Leaders Programme will include enrolment for each of the two 2024 award winners in a 12-month emerging leadership course delivered in partnership with The Leadership Trust. This course, a combination of residential courses, online workshops, and coaching modules, will guide the participants in becoming influential cold chain leaders. The two emerging leaders will also benefit from attendance at the three flagship CCF events: the Climate Summit, the CCF Parliamentary Reception and Cold Chain Live! as well as interviews in Cold Chain News magazine.

Nominations for the Cold Chain Emerging Leaders Programme are open for anybody working in the cold chain sector and employed by a CCF Storage and Distribution member company until 9th August 2024. A panel of cold chain industry leaders, including Cold Chain Federation Chief Executive Phil Pluck, will select the two award winners.

The two award winners for the inaugural year of the Cold Chain Emerging Leaders Programme will be announced at Cold Chain Live! 2024 (taking place 4th-5th September at Telford International Centre), where they will be presented with the CCF Emerging Leader 2024 trophy and debate how new entrants to the cold chain can make a difference.
