The Freight Transport Association's Vehicle Inspection Service has begun maintenance audits of Gatwick Airport's inter-terminal shuttle - FTA's first ever maintenance audit contract for a train. The shuttle service connects the airport's North and South terminals.
Gatwick Airport's engineering team has used the services of FTA for many years, including independent quality monitoring of its vehicles and plant, records audits and staff training. The company has extended FTA's quality maintenance audits to the shuttle service, and a bespoke inspection report has been designed.
David Wylie, Head of FTA's Vehicle Inspection Service said:
"We are delighted to be providing this unique, tailor-made service to the Gatwick team, giving them additional assurances that their shuttle service meets all of the required standards, and that they will continue to operate a safe and reliable service for their passengers."
