Geoff Tucker has been appointed Managing Director of materials handling equipment specialists Barloworld Handling in the UK. Mr Tucker, previously based in South Africa with Barloworld Equipment, is now responsible for Barloworld Handling's operations in the UK and Southern Africa.
Commenting on his new position Mr Tucker said "It's a familiar role in a new country for me and I have to say I'm very much looking forward to working with my UK colleagues. All areas of the business are showing improvements and this is very encouraging. We have solid foundations in place together with an experienced executive and senior management team who are focussed on building success for the future and adding further value to our customer base."
Mr Tucker is a qualified Chartered Accountant and started with Barloworld some 26 years ago. In 1992 he was appointed MD of Barloworld Handling South Africa and in 2002 was appointed to the Board of Barloworld Equipment Co South Africa with responsibility for the Handling, Agriculture and Energy Division. More recently his responsibilities included Barloworld's Earth Moving and General Construction Equipment operations throughout Southern Africa.
Mr Tucker is married with two sons and will be based at Barloworld Handling's head office in Maidenhead.
