Leading UK ambient 3PL specialist Great Bear Distribution is pleased to formally announce the appointment of Alastair Isbister as its new Chief Executive Officer effective from May 2017.
In his new role Alastair will report directly to Culina Group CEO – Thomas van Mourik.
Alastair joins Great Bear from DHL at a landmark period in the company’s growth with the opening of the UK’s first Tri-modal logistics facility - Port Salford - a showpiece 280,000 sq. ft. facility creating 280 jobs, and the currently on-going development of a vast 1,000,000 sq. ft. logistics complex at Markham Vale, Chesterfield which is expected to generate a further 800 new jobs.
“Growing the Great Bear business and continuing to always provide fantastic service to our customers is my goal,” said Alastair, “I am really looking forward to helping to take Great Bear Distribution to the next level. It is an exciting opportunity at a really interesting time in UK logistics.”
With nearly thirty years’ 3PL experience, Alastair brings with him significant knowledge and expertise. Over ten years at TDG were followed by sixteen at DHL where Alastair’s most recent post was as VP, Business Development & Account Management responsible for Consumer, Tradeteam, Ireland, and the Engineering & Manufacturing sectors - a broad high level position with wide ranging responsibilities.
