Food delivery firm HelloFresh has confirmed plans to shut down its warehouse in Nuneaton, with 900 jobs now at risk.

The company said it had not taken the decision lightly and would enter into a consultation process with impacted workers.

The Community Trade Union, which represents employees, slammed the news as "dreadful" and said staff deserved better.

Staff at the distribution centre protested in late October following the dismissal of 79 workers.

Community Trade Union claimed the dismissals followed complaints about working conditions, including toilet break policies.

But HelloFresh denied the claims and said workers had been dismissed for "serious breaches of employment terms".

The proposal is for the Nuneaton warehouse to remain operational until at least mid-2025.
