RHA member Manfreight has opened a new 50,000 square foot chilled facility in Belfast Harbour creating 30 jobs.
Named ‘Phase One: Chilled Facility’, the warehouse boasts state-of-the-art temperature controls and consistent conditions for perishable goods.
The location gives Manfreight swift access to the Belfast Ferry Terminals and maritime routes allowing for a faster transit of goods.
Phase One strives to decarbonise by 2030 by using an array of clean energy sources for power. The facility uses solar, wind, water cooled refrigeration, heat recovery system and reduced refrigeration energy consumption to offset its carbon footprint.
Pamela Dennison, RHA Policy Support Officer said: “It’s incredible to see such a cutting-edge transport hub in Belfast and it bodes well for Northern Ireland’s transport sector.
