Navman Wireless's vehicle tracking system has won a Best Telematics Service and Application for Commercial Vehicles award at the annual Telematics Detroit Conference 2009 the largest telematics conference in the world.
The companys software system OnlineAVL2 earned second-place honours in the highly contested category, beating nine other finalists from around the globe including TomTom Garmin Qualcomm NetworkFleet and Sagequest.
OnlineAVL2 has been described as "the next generation of vehicle tracking software" and helps companies managing fleets to reduce fuel usage, optimise fleet efficiency and enhance customer service.

OnlineAVL2 offers users radical and dynamic new ways of viewing driver locations. It integrates full aerial photographic images with traditional street level mapping to display, at a glance from any PC, the position of vehicles in relation to neighbourhood buildings, depots, car parks etc.
The software's advanced functionality has also been the springboard for a raft of new telematics developments.
The Telematics Update event was judged by a panel of independent consultants and industry experts. The winner in Navman Wireless's category was a fuel-saving system installed on select Daimler Trucks.
