After 10 years with ACM Waste Management Plc Martyn Kentish has been promoted to the role of Technical Director with ACM's equipment company 3r Environmental Technology Limited.
Martyn joined ACM in the role of Service Manager and during his time with the company he has seen it grow and develop beyond all recognition. When he started with ACM there were just two engineers, a sales team of four and chairman and chief executive Barry Bolton and Andy Jacobs, but now the company employs a team of over 40 staff based at its head office in Waltham Abbey.
Martyn said: "During my time at ACM I have worked with every department but always heading up the service team. Every day is different with new challenges and after 10 years I am delighted to be able to use my technical expertise to help the company develop its equipment arm 3r Environmental technology."
Mike Rosser, chairman of 3r, said:" Martyn has notched up some impressive achievements over his 10 years with ACM including helping the company to achieve its ISO 9000 accreditation, setting up the workshop and expanding the service department. His knowledge and experience will be extremely valuable in his new position as Technical Director of 3r."
2008 will be an exciting and challenging year for 3r as the company looks to develop its own state of the art machinery range with its Chinese partners and also implements its plans to increase the volume of waste management equipment that it supplies to the waste management and recycling industry.
Martyn added:" Over the past 10 years I have seen dramatic changes in the waste management industry. The emphasis is now very firmly on increasing recycling levels so one of the areas I will be focusing on, as Technical Director of 3r, will be the development of a range of equipment that will make a positive contribution to improving efficiencies in this area.
"The battle against global warming is now firmly at the top of both the business and political agendas so increased recycling and the energy savings that this delivers are vital and this will be a key growth area for 3r.
"I am also keen to help the company expand into the European and Asian markets. This will be another huge challenge but one that I am already looking forward to!"
