The European Commission Representation and the Department for Transport in the United Kingdom are pleased to invite you to the presentation and signing ceremony of the European Safety Charter.
The event will take place on July 8, 2009 between 10.00 and 11.30 am at St Martin´s Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, London WC2N 4JJ (entrance through the glass pavilion).
In the presence of Paul Clark MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, Isabelle Kardacz, Head of the Road Safety Unit for The European Commission and Sarah Lambert, Head of Representation of the European Commission in the UK, the new signatories, including British Gas, British Red Cross, Nestlé and many more will sign the European Charter and contribute to making Britain's roads the safest in the world!
The European Road Safety Charter is a community of road safety practitioners. By June of 2009, more than 1,400 entities have signed the Charter and have undertaken commitments that demonstrate a greater awareness about road safety with one common challenge: to contribute to the reduction of road fatalities by half before 2010.
