Repic encourages responsible recycling with new website

Repic, the largest Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Producer Compliance Scheme (PCS) in the UK, has launched a brand new, interactive website. Sporting a fresh new look, www.repic.co.uk has been redesigned to be clear and simple and provide industry professionals with all the information they need on responsible recycling.

This latest move enhances the support services the company offers to collectors of WEEE, and brings together in one place details about all of the compliance solutions that Repic can offer, including WEEE, batteries and packaging.

As well as providing detailed information on the compliance directives for these three areas, Repic has created dedicated landing pages for the various stakeholders involved in the responsible recycling of waste materials, from producers and distributors to Local Authorities (LAs) and treatment partners. For each individual group, the designated landing page contains tailored information on their individual obligations and roles and responsibilities within the system.

The online portal will also be kept up-to-date with industry news, and as such, will provide a point of reference for those wanting to find out more about the latest developments and any changes to legislation.

Philip Morton, CEO of Repic, comments: "Our aim when redesigning the new website was to create a resource that is as helpful as possible to those involved in the industry. The UK WEEE system is still very much in development, while legislation is being reviewed and adapted to perfect the systems and processes we have put in place. From speaking to many of our Local Authority and waste management partners, we felt it would be beneficial to create a website which not only contained background to the compliance legislation, but that also served as a resource which professionals could use to digest the latest industry news."

The website will form part of the wider support package that Repic offers to its LA and waste management partners, which also includes a WEEE fund for councils to help support regional recycling schemes by raising public awareness of waste electrical goods recycling.

Repic is funded by major producers of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) to deliver WEEE, battery and packaging compliance solutions. Repic is committed to responsible recycling, and as such, prefers to deal directly with the collectors of end of life products to provide the comfort and security that it is properly handled an processed through short, clear, auditable routes.
