Preston-based transport firm Ainsworth and Martin has joined the Fortec Pallet Distribution Network.
The company, which operates out of a 30,000 sq ft warehouse in Leyland Road, is hoping the move will enable its growth over the next 12 months.
With a 70-strong workforce and a fleet of 50 vehicles Ainsworth and Martin serves 150 customers in Preston and the North West. A total of 15 vehicles in the fleet operate in Europe.
In the six months to March 2010 the company recorded an operating profit of £100,000 and Managing Director Stephen Dunn said by joining the Fortec Pallet Distribution Network the company was hoping to double turnover in the next 12 months.
He said: "We had been with another pallet network before now but Fortec was recommended to us so we looked into the network and were impressed with what we saw.
"Fortec already has a massive presence within Europe and it seems it is poised to continue its success with significant growth. It has invested heavily in a new IT system which is of huge benefit to the licensees and their customers. We believe Fortec is the way forward to help our company enjoy significant growth in the North West."
Neil Hodgson, Managing Director of the Fortec Pallet Distribution Network, said: "We are delighted to welcome Ainsworth and Martin to our family of licensees. The company is well respected in the industry and we are looking forward to a long and prosperous partnership with Stephen Dunn and his team."
