Having successfully secured a joint bid to become the jetting, sewage collection and tankering services provider for South West Water, Cornwall-based specialist liquid waste haulier and disposal contractor, Clear-Flow Limited, has bolstered the strength of its vacuum tanker fleet with the addition of four new vehicles supplied by Whale Tankers - the UK's leading manufacturer of vacuum tankers and jetting equipment.
Operating out of Clear-Flow's newly-opened depot situated on a one acre site in Newton Abbot, three of the fleet newcomers are equipped with Whale Tankers' 3200-gallon capacity carbon steel tank - 3000 gallons dedicated to sewage and non-hazardous sludges and 200 for jetting water - and mounted onto 26-tonne Scania and MAN chassis. A smaller 2200 capacity vacuum tanker has been specified with DAF's 18-tonne 4 x 2 chassis. All four units have been supplied with single ram, front mounted multi-stage tipping gear.
To deliver maximum operating performance in the field, each Whale vacuum tanker is equipped with a Mistral series exhauster/compressor, together with a low volume jetting system that is based on the Orca high pressure pump providing 10 gpm output at 2000psi. Both jetting flow and pressure rates are fully adjustable at the rear of the vehicle.
In addition to supporting Clear-Flow's association with South West Water, the latest Whale tankers will also be deployed to drive forward the company's expansion programme by helping develop an increasing presence within Dorset and Somerset. As Commercial Director, Neale Cox states: "We are a very pro-Whale customer that currently operates a broad cross section of their vehicles, ranging from small van packs and camera units through to articulated tankers and specialist recyclers, so we obviously know the product inside out. Given how reliable the product is, coupled with the aftersales service and support back-up we received from Whale, we know that our latest fleet additions will play a vital part in satisfying our need, not only in relation to the South West Water contract but our expansion plans in general."
Operating a total fleet of around 50 vehicles - some 75% of which are Whale - Clear-Flow offers a diverse range of services involving both the collection and transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste. Alongside specialist commercial services dedicated to tankering, deep lift, high-pressure water jetting, confined space entry, no-dig pipelining and CCTV inspection, Clear-Flow also undertakes a number of domestic services.
