National supply chain specialist Nightfreight is gearing up to deliver over 1000 tonnes of fireworks over the Guy Fawkes season.
Nightfreight will operate a round-the-clock delivery service to the UK’s biggest firework displays on behalf of its nationwide retailers, including Pyrotex Fireworx, which has just been named British Musical Fireworks Champion 2010.
The leading overnight express, home delivery and contract logistics specialist delivers all online retail sales for Pyrotex Fireworx, one of the UK’s leading independent firework retailers.
It is one of the busiest times of the year for Nightfreight, which manages deliveries for over 65 firework contracts in the UK.
David Downes, who heads up Nightfreight’s special ‘dangerous goods’ division, said: "This seasonal celebration is an extremely busy and important time for us, and careful planning and constant monitoring is required at all times to ensure the successful handling of such special consignments."
"With good planning and teamwork we have managed to fit the increased number of fireworks consignments into the day-to-day schedule of our hub – without causing disruption.
"Our specialist team is responsible for delivering fireworks for a wide range of clients, including the top five UK importers. We also handle shipments from as far away as Indonesia, China, Italy, Germany and Spain – all have to be distributed UK wide on a tight schedule."
Nightfreight has been providing home delivery solutions to Pyrotex Fireworx since October 2009.
