Norbert Dentressangle has secured a three year contract renewal worth over £1 million with Hobart UK, the world's leading supplier of commercial catering equipment, which extends its existing relationship to 14-years.
Hobart UK manufactures cooking equipment, warewashers and food preparation machines for the foodservice industry. The company is a division of global business ITW, a diversified manufacturer of advanced industrial technology.
Deliveries are made to professional kitchens, retailer's shops and supermarkets, restaurants and pub chains, and a wide range of food industry companies. Customers in the UK include Mitchells and Butler, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Nando's.
As the operation involves the transport of high value and heavy equipment, Norbert Dentressangle Specialist Services, which provides highly customised delivery solutions in addition to a standard two man 'unpack and position' service, ensures products are handled by highly trained operatives throughout the distribution process.
The service includes the daily collection of product from Hobart's national distribution centre in Peterborough, twice weekly trailer movements between the UK manufacturing plant in Barnstaple and Peterborough, shipments to Ireland, as well as deliveries of spare parts and cleaning fluid.
An on-site account co-ordinator, based at Hobart Peterborough, oversees the management of all consignments and works closely with both the customer and Norbert Dentressangle's Specialist Services depot teams, particularly on the larger and more involved deliveries.
In 2011 the operation delivered a total of 9,715 Hobart consignments, amounting to nearly 14,300 pallet equivalents. Around 35% of all jobs were time specific installations.
"After another successful three years, with Norbert Dentressangle delivering an excellent service, I was happy to renew the contract for a further three year period," said David Riley, Director - Warewash UK at Hobart.
"Norbert Dentressangle and Hobart have demonstrated to customers in a range of markets how effectively we can work together as a team to meet their highly individual requirements."
