Norbert Dentressangle caters for Valera with specialist services

Norbert Dentressangle has secured a new contract with Corsair Wholesale Limited, which trades as Valera, a leading supplier of branded cooking equipment, catering equipment and commercial refrigeration products, and counter solutions.

Based in Banbury, Valera was established in 1993 and as well as own branded equipment distributes products from Sanyo, Fagor, Jordao Cooling Systems, Masterfrost and many more to leading hotels, restaurants and pub chains in the UK, as well as the public sector via, predominantly, distributors partners.

Due to the bulky nature of the goods handled, Norbert Dentressangle uses two-man crews from its Specialist Services operation to collect orders from Banbury for consolidation at its Leighton Buzzard facility, prior to final delivery.

Utilising its well-established catering equipment distribution expertise, Norbert Dentressangle provides flexible shared-user 48-hour delivery nationwide, supported by next-day delivery as required. This is backed by a range of added value services, such as pre-delivery calls, centralised customer service management, site surveys, installation and the disposal of packaging and existing equipment.

Vehicles are equipped with restraining harnesses, tail lifts and stair climbers for easy loading and transportation, which ensures safe shipment of the high value equipment.

"We asked a number of third party operators to tender for the distribution of our products and Norbert Dentressangle’s Specialist Services solution offered the best combination of cost for two-man deliveries together with a flexible next-day service," commented Pratap Gadhvi, Managing Director at Valera.

"The company has a large UK network that can effectively service our customer base and an in-depth understanding of our requirements. We also have the option of using Norbert Dentressangle’s pan-European network to import products going forward."

Management at Valera input orders via Norbert Dentressangle’s SharpNet system, which automatically feeds into the company’s bespoke transportation management solution, SHARP 4 (Shipment Handling and Reporting Program). This provides easy access to real time proof of delivery (POD) information.
