Norbert Dentressangle provides quality service for Premium Timber

Norbert Dentressangle has secured a three-year £-multi-million contract renewal with Premium Timber Products Limited, extending an existing relationship that began in 2005.

Established in 1988, Premium Timber Products is a market leader in the sourcing and development of many timber and PVCU products, including doors, decking, shelving and many other associated products. The company is a major supplier to B&Q.

Premium Timber operates from two sites, a head office and 140,000 sq ft (13,000 sq m) warehouse in Somerset, and a 160,000 sq ft (14,800 sq m) warehouse in West Yorkshire, from where Norbert Dentressangle makes deliveries to over 300 sites every week throughout the UK mainland and Ireland. Deliveries are also made to The Highlands, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.

Using a fleet of dedicated vehicles operating from distribution hubs in Weare and Dewsbury, Norbert Dentressangle drivers are trained how to handle vulnerable timber products and eliminate potential damage to orders during transit.

B&Q retail outlets use a sophisticated system of electronic ordering, which utilises low stock level management to provide a cost effective operation. As a result a rapid and reliable supply and delivery service is required. In addition to supplying the large DIY retailer, Premium Timber also distributes to a limited number of furniture manufacturers, timber merchants and independent stores.

Clive Gardner, Chief Executive at Premium Timber, said: "Norbert Dentressangle provides a quality dedicated service to ensure our orders arrive safely and in first class condition. The operation is very flexible and allows us to respond effectively to peak order demands and special requests.

"No business is a success without having high quality people and we are no exception. The drivers at Norbert Dentressangle work to the same high standards and are real ambassadors for Premium Timber – providing an extension of our company image to customers, which is very important."
