Norbert Dentressangle wins Global Freight Award

Norbert Dentressangle has won its fourth award of the year after triumphing in the 2013 Global Freight Awards at a glittering ceremony hosted by comedian Rufus Hound at the Planit Supernova, Embankment Gardens in London.

The Global Freight Awards were launched in 1996 as an initiative to recognise and celebrate the achievements in the worldwide freight and logistics industry that clearly demonstrate excellence.

Norbert Dentressangle took the top honours in the Road Freight category for the introduction of a new express service as part of its Red Europe shared-user pallet distribution network that operates across Europe.

The addition of the Red Europe Express solution offers collections, typically, within one-hour from order placement and a 24-hour "on call" service enabling customers to monitor progress at any time of the day or night. Designed specifically to meet the needs of clients where delayed delivery is simply not an option, the service offers the quickest transit times possible by road. It is backed-up by a comprehensive support service that can trans-ship goods in an emergency.

A spokesperson for the awards said: "The judges were impressed with the new express option within Norbert Dentressangle's Red Europe pallet network, which provides clients with faster delivery and accurate delivery of goods, as well as collections, and its 24-hour "on call" service, which is vital in today's society.

"Fast delivery is a necessity and Norbert Dentressangle is continuously proving it has what it takes to deliver this express service and meet its customers' needs. The speed of its quick, time-sensitive delivery option is what really stood out to the judges."

Accepting the latest award, Michael Telford, Red Europe Product Manager at Norbert Dentressangle, said: "We're delighted that the introduction of the Red Europe Express Service has been recognised by the judges of the Global Freight Awards as a customer focussed development that meets a specific requirement and delivers a range of benefits. At Norbert Dentressangle we are committed to continuously developing solutions that enhance the portfolio of services we offer to our customers by working in partnership with them."

Norbert Dentressangle's other award successes this year include lifting the Development of People trophy at the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport Awards, the HR Award for Distinction in Learning & Development, and the Young Woman in Logistics 2013 Award.
