One small step for Burnt Tree, one Giant step for Refrigerental!

In one of the most spectacular events recently held in Liverpool, three giants – a grandma, a granddaughter and a dog - roamed the streets of Liverpool, telling the story of the city’s involvement in World War I. Supporting the three giants were two refrigerated vehicles supplied to Events Team at Liverpool Council by Burnt Tree Refrigerental, that acted as support vehicles for the operators of the giants, providing them with drinks and refreshments during the three-day event.

Thousands of people lined Liverpool's streets for the 3 day giant marionette show that was commemorating World War One, culminating in the Memories of August 1914 event attracting an audience in excess of 1 million visitors in total, as they produced a spectacular piece of street theatre which, similar to the event in 2012, saw them embark on an emotional journey around the city.

For this high profile tourist event, Burnt Tree Refrigerental’s branch in Wigan supplied a Nissan NV200 refrigerated van featuring a Carrier Neos 100 refrigeration system, together with a Vauxhall Vivaro van that had a Carrier Xarios 200 refrigeration system.

Commenting on the Liverpool Giants event, Mark Howell, Contract Hire and Refrigerental Director at Burnt Tree said, “When Liverpool Council approached us as one of the few local vehicle rental companies supplying refrigerated vehicles, we were keen to help them with this unusual request. Our Wigan branch had two vehicles available that were ideally suited to the job required during this main stream cultural event on Merseyside,”
