ByBox, the leading in-night parts and equipment distributor, has been awarded an exciting new contract with major IT service provider Linetex. Established in 1983, Linetex employs around 130 employees with 54 engineers out in the field offering a 24/7 365 days a year support service to major clients such as McDonald’s, Ted Baker, Paul Smith and fuel giant Total.
Getting the right part to the right field service engineer quickly is essential for Linetex as they are often required to meet demanding two and four hour service level agreements (SLA’s) for repairs. Along with the fact that Linetex has over 2000 parts a month moving through the system, a reliable and trusted distribution partner is an essential component of the business.
Linetex therefore needed a distributor that could help them meet their customer’s needs quickly and efficiently, so they turned to ByBox. Before this, Linetex had previously worked with another distributor but staff were extremely impressed with ByBox’ revolutionary network of more than 18,000 drop-boxes at 1,350 locations across the UK.
Warehouse and Distribution Manager Martin Young said: "Our previous distributor’s level of service was declining so we looked at other solutions which were available in the marketplace. We opted for ByBox and haven’t looked back since!
"Various things about ByBox appealed to us. As an in-night distribution service, ByBox is second to none. Their locker system is very effective and more importantly we know that parts are going to be there when we need them.
"Furthermore the fact that all our engineers can carry keys to each lock box means that if we have an engineer off sick we can send another engineer to pick up his parts. It gives us a bit of resilience and means we can always meet our obligations to our clients."
Another key factor in selecting ByBox was the company’s network of 29 Forward Stocking Locations (FSL’s) which are supported by ByBox’ unique Thinventory software platform.
Martin Young continued: "To have a ‘mini’ stock holding facility out in the field for both out of hour’s calls and tight SLA’s is ideal for our operation. An additional advantage of FSL’s is that each time an engineer scans a part out, the stock levels are updated in real time, which automatically orders a replenishment part from central stores overnight. It is a facility which is proving to be invaluable to our operation and we haven’t had a failure yet!"
Mark Garritt, Managing Director, ByBox explains: "Our relationship with Linetex is a perfect example of how ByBox works in partnership with its customers. We are constantly striving to introduce new services and enhance our offering to not only ensure that we meet the needs of our customers but also identify a need before they are aware of it themselves!"
"The introduction of our network of FSL’s such as those utilised by Linetex is evidence of this and we are delighted to be able to deliver a solution to Linetex which mirrors their requirements."
Martin Young added: "ByBox give me an edge over any competitors. We need the right part at the right place at the right time and ByBox are able to do that. They work closely with us and have already provided both cost savings and increased productivity but the most important thing is the level of service.
"I would definitely recommend ByBox as a company from the moment of the initial enquiries and meetings right through to the present day. Their customer service is second to none and are a brilliant company to work with."
Linetex is the latest in a long line of contracts to be won by the innovative parts distribution and field service solutions specialist as more and more companies want to take advantage of the unique service ByBox is able to offer. Offering such an effective, efficient and fast service, ByBox really are driving technology forward.
