Packaging course can give competitive edge

A part-time course recognised by the packaging industry can give businesses a competitive edge.

The Natural Resources Institute, part of the University of Greenwich at Medway, will be running its established Certificate in Packaging course from Wednesday 25 February, one afternoon a week for 20 weeks.

Dr Richard Fuchs, course leader, says: "Packaging plays a vital role in adding value to products and services. Innovation in packaging can give competitive edge in many sectors of industry."

He adds: "The course covers technical and aesthetic performance, cost, safety, environmental impact and legality of packaging materials and packaged products. It is suitable for anyone who typically interfaces with some aspect of pack handling or management, or anyone studying a related course such as product design, food science or logistics."

The course is the only one in the South East of England accredited by the Packaging Industry Awarding Body Company.
