Pall Ex member Mainland Group moves with the times

Strategic move to new 3.5 acre site in Northampton Pall-Ex's Northamptonshire-based network member, Mainland Group Ltd, has re-located to a new 3.5 acre operational facility strategically located on Gladstone Close in Northampton. The move to new premises is a result of the growth in business due to recent acquisitions, new sales and additional logistics contracts from existing customers.

Pall-Ex member since December 2003, Mainland Group now operates out of a 40,000 sq ft warehouse with over 80 trucks.

The move will give added benefits to Northamptonshire companies for palletised freight distribution, same day and European and worldwide logistics requirements. The new site has state-of-the-art telephone technology, computerised warehouse management systems, full CCTV coverage of the premises and access control throughout the building.

Hilary Devey, MD of the Pall-Ex Group of Companies, said: "Mainland is a key member of the Pall-Ex network and is going from strength to strength. This relocation will give Mike Bacon and his team the chance to grow their business still further and I wish them every success."

Pall-Ex was established in 1996 by Hilary Devey to deliver small consignments of palletised freight cost-effectively throughout the UK. In less than ten years, the company has become the No.1 operator of a palletised "hub and spoke" freight network, with over 100 depot locations throughout the UK and Europe and a purpose-built £12M hub in Leicestershire. Pall-Ex offers a comprehensive range of pallet storage and delivery solutions, with access to over 7,500 vehicles and over five million square feet of warehousing in the UK and Europe. It also supports the industry's charity, Transaid, with its 'Penny-A-Pallet' scheme.
