Pall-Ex members club together for charity

Members of the UK's leading pallet distribution network, Pall-Ex, have teed off to raise money for charity.

Pall-Ex's seventh annual charity golf event took place at De Vere Mottram Hall in Cheshire on 18 September, and raised over £4000 for the Princess Royal Trust for Carers.

70 golfers from the nationwide network attended the fundraiser to compete against each other in a round of golf. The event was sponsored by Deker Trailers, Allport Truck Centre Renault Trucks, Kuehne + Nagel, Close Asset Finance and Pall-Ex member STD Developments Ltd.

Prizes, including an LCD TV, golfing vouchers and a weekend break for two, were handed out for best individual and team performances, as well as the longest drive of the day.

Hilary Devey founder, owner and CEO of Pall-Ex, commented:

"Our charity golf event is always a great day out and I know it's something that our members look forward to.

"I'm a patron of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers, so it's a cause close to my heart. I'm therefore delighted that everyone was so generous and helped us to raise a substantial amount of money."

The money raised by Pall-Ex and its members will go towards helping 133 independently managed centres across the UK that offer vital support to more than 310,000 carers.

Pall-Ex's ongoing support for the Princess Royal Trust for Carers involves a charity calendar, planned for later this year, and regular donations from the Penny-a-Pallet scheme - an initiative devised by Hilary, which sees a penny donated to the fund for every pallet delivered by Pall-Ex.
