Carl Seeley wins for second year running. Pall-Ex, the UK’s No.1 Pallet Network, has named Carl Seeley as Trunk Driver of the Year 2006. Carl has been given this accolade for the second year in a row. The award reflects Pall-Ex’s recognition of Carl’s outstanding contributions throughout the year as a trunk driver. Carl was nominated by Pall-Ex hub staff from the 10,000 drivers employed throughout the network. His reliability and achievements in time management and delivery satisfaction helped him to win the award in both 2005 and 2006. Carl receives a magnum of Champagne, a certificate and a gift voucher award.
Carl began working for Pall-Ex member Westrope Brothers in Halstead, Essex as a trainee mechanic shortly after leaving school at the age of 16. He soon moved into driving and obtained his HGV licence at the age of 21. He has now been with Westrope for 19 years.
Westrope Brothers was established in 1936 and provides a range of transport services. The company has a fleet of 42 trucks and 8,000 sq ft of warehousing.
Depot Principal Stuart Westrope commented: “Carl is a very experienced and able driver who has been with us since he started his driving career. We are very pleased that he has been given such great recognition for the second time – he really deserves it for his loyalty and commitment to Westrope Brothers and to Pall-Ex.”
Hilary Devey, managing director of Pall-Ex added her congratulations: “This is great recognition and Carl is an excellent example of all that is best in our Pall-Ex drivers. I warmly congratulate him on his success.”
Carl lives in Hedinghan, Essex and specialises in night trunk driving.
