Palletforce delivers industry first

Palletforce, the leading palletised freight network continues to build on the back of its multi-million pound, patented IT investment by giving all members access to its unique ARC (Arrived - Recorded - Confirmed) facility.

The innovative new software is an extension of the Palletforce-owned Alliance IT system, giving all 100 members complete transparency of trunking across the whole network.

ARC, which went live at the end of February, gives members complete visibility of vehicle movements, showing when vehicles depart and arrive at hubs and depots in real-time.

“This technology is unique to Palletforce, sharing with members a live view of our entire trunking operation, including individual pallet movements,” said Dean Hughes, IT Director at Palletforce.

“To deliver our industry leading service, the hub handles thousands of pallets every night, working to a strict schedule that everyone has to adhere to. ARC works like an air traffic control system – allowing Palletforce to dynamically plan the evening operation as well as removing the mystery of what happens once a vehicle leaves a member’s site.

“We are making the hub operation transparent by sharing arrival, unloading, loading and departure times with members, which enables them to plan their operations better and be more efficient, ultimately reducing their costs.”

Michael Conroy, Chief Executive Officer at Palletforce, said: “This is an industry first and we are extremely proud and confident of the way we manage our world-class hub and fantastic network. Now our members can see in great detail and in real time the performance of the hubs and critically their own trunking.

“Our continuous and pioneering IT investments underpins our ongoing commitment to technology and innovation. This sets us apart from our competitors and offers greater piece of mind to all of our members.”
