Palletforce nominated for Gold Standard at industry awards

Nationwide distribution network Palletforce has been named a finalist in the prestigious Grocer Gold Awards.

The annual event, organised by industry bible The Grocer, celebrates excellence in all aspects of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) – and Palletforce is one of six major firms in the running to be crowned “Logistics Supplier of the Year”.

From its central hub in Burton upon Trent, Palletforce operates a network of 87 member companies, all of whom are highly-respected independent transport operators in their own right.

Collectively they provide unrivalled service quality, fast deliveries and complete flexibility to distribute small consignments, as well as larger loads, across a network of over 100 depots in the UK, Ireland and Europe.

The FMCG and Grocery sector is a key and growing area of Palletforce’s business and 2014 was a record year for the company in terms of growth, quality of service and efficiency in this area.

In order to be nominated for the Grocer Gold award, Palletforce had to demonstrate “tangible and meaningful” improvements across its entire logistics operation in the last 12 months, such as improving efficiency, delivering better value and reducing mileage.

Other finalists in the category include Bibby Distribution, Coca Cola Enterprises, Fowler Welch, Gist and Samworth Brothers.

“When you look at the other finalists you’ll see that we’re in some great company, which I think is testament to the tremendous strides we’ve made over the last year,” said Palletforce sales and marketing director Dave Holland.

“We have forged highly successful relationships with global brands such as Nestlé and we work closely with leading retailers as well as smaller artisan food and drink manufacturers.

“Palletforce offers a smart technology-driven, easy-to-use quality service for the grocery sector, and our customers not only appreciate our unrivalled network and service, but the accumulated experience of our members.”

The Grocer Gold Awards take place at London’s Guildhall on June 9, 2015, with the winners of each category judged by a panel of FMCG experts.
