Palletforce, the UK’s leading palletised distribution network, is launching a Christmas sequel to the children’s book it published in 2010.
All the characters from the first book, including Phil Truck, The Big Cheese and Woody Pallet, are back for ‘A Christmas Adventure’, a festive tale based in the Big Hub.
This time it falls to the gang to save Christmas and deliver the presents after Santa is forced off his sleigh in a snow storm.
"Two years ago we became the first in the industry to launch a children’s book as part of our efforts to engage the next generation in logistics," Dave Holland, Sales and Marketing Director at Palletforce.
"It was so well received by our staff throughout the network – and their children – we decided to bring the characters back together for a logistics Christmas story."
In 2010 the first Palletforce book, ‘No Job Too Tall’ was launched with a funfair event at the Hub where TV presenter Michaela Strachan helped to lead a successful Guinness World Record attempt for the Most Adults Reading to Children In a Single Location.
"Creating children’s books is not the norm for a logistics company but at Palletforce we like to tread a different path and by developing unique, fun characters we have found a way of engaging children in what we do," said Dave.
"That is hugely important as they are the next generation of professionals and will be the ones leading the industry forward in the future."
