Palletised freight network group, Palletways, appoints two new marketing professionals

Lichfield-based Palletways Group, Europe's largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, has appointed two new marketing professionals.

Heading-up the team is Jeff Nicholas, marketing manager, who started in November and who has since recruited Katie Lawton as the team's marketing assistant. Katie joined on 12 December.

With wide ranging experience of brand strategy, category management and new product development, Palletways has appointed Nicholas to bring a fresh approach to marketing its UK network and the individual businesses of its 100+ members.

Martyn Young, Palletways' managing director, said: "Jeff's comprehensive marketing knowledge and experience in developing brands ideally positions him to assist us in driving forward business growth within the UK and the Palletways network beyond.

"I'd like to congratulate Jeff on his appointment and look forward to working with both him and Katie."

About his appointment, Jeff Nicholas said: "My background within the food and drink industry has included working for well-known brands such as Cadbury, Allied Lyons and Burtons Foods.

"I'm excited by the challenge of developing Palletways and working with a great team, including Katie who has hit the ground running. I'm really looking forward to using my experience in a new sector."

The Palletways Group is made up of a total of 280 depots and nine hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 11 European countries, including the UK. The company's distribution networks are made up of independent transport companies who share each other's resources to deliver small consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before.
