Palletised freight network Pall Ex launch partnership with Damm Group in Spain

The UK's leading palletised freight network has launched a partnership operation in Spain.

Pall-Ex has joined forces with the logistics arm of Spanish-based Damm Group in order to establish Pall-Ex Iberia.

The move follows the recent success of Pall-Ex Italia and is the latest step in the company's overarching plans to develop a pan-European hub and spoke network.

The Spanish network will operate from the new Pall-Ex Iberia hub in Madrid, which is expected to be fully operational by April 2011.

Pall-Ex CEO Hilary Devey said the partnership will revolutionise the logistics industry throughout the region.

She said: "Our new partnership represents a landmark phase in our ambition to expand our network across Europe.

"Pall-Ex was established in 1996 to deliver small consignments of palletised freight cost-effectively throughout the UK, and today we are the the UK's leading operator with over 100 member depot sites across the country.

"Our objective has been to roll out this successful model across mainland Europe, Pall-Ex Iberia is the second phase following the successful implementation of Pall-Ex Italia in 2009, Plans are already in place to form further networks in two other European countries during 2011.

"The key challenge in the European expansion has been to identify partners that share our drive for growth and innovation.

"Our Spanish partners share our values and we now look forward to working closely as we build on the experience of Pall-Ex Italia and expand the member network to transform palletised distribution for small consignments and part loads across the region."

Enric Estruch, managing director of Pall-Ex Iberia, added: " The Pall-Ex distribution model will bring a quality-driven alternative to the palletised freight distribution market along with an opportunity for members to enhance their service provision to customers.
