UK distributor of garden machinery has appointed Palletways to provide logistics support.
Palletways, the UK’s largest palletised freight network, is delivering goods on behalf of Rochford Garden Machinery to garden centres and garden machinery retailers across the country. Palletways will handle all pallets for the firm across the UK including the larger garden tractors which form a significant part of the business.
Steve Waterhouse, Business Development Director Palletways (UK) Ltd, said: “Palletways is providing customer service support and one of our members, Just Vans in Frome, has operational responsibility for collecting freight from Rochford’s site in Wincanton and injecting it into our hubs in Greenford and Lichfield.
“This contract win demonstrates the power of our network and shows that by working closely with our members, we can win sizeable new accounts.”
Martin Haselup, Trade Sales Office Manager at Rochford Garden Machinery, said: “We have been working with Palletways and Just Vans for a couple of months now and are really impressed with the dual arrangement we have in place. Palletways’ Digital Information Hub is the icing on the cake as its increased visibility will help enhance our own performance and processes.”
Palletways has come a long way since it started trading 20 years ago when it delivered 46,000 pallets of goods in its first year. The Group now has a turnover of some £200m and delivers over 7m pallets annually to 20 European countries through a network of 12 hub operations and more than 400 depots. In the UK one in every four pallets handled by palletised freight networks is distributed by Palletways.
