Pallet management company, Whirlowdale Trading, has expanded its Rotherham distribution centre and head office facilities significantly over the last few months. The South Yorkshire-based business has more than doubled the size of its production – with 100,000 pallets leaving the site each month.
Having purchased an extra 20,000 sq ft of land in 2005, an additional 2000 sq ft has been used to construct a modern and newly completed suite of corporate meeting rooms, adjacent to an extensive area dedicated to the repairing and recycling of customers' pallets.
Managing Director Andrew Pearce said: "Since having transferred our pallet sales from Burton-on-Trent to Rotherham, this has now become the central facility for the ordering of new and reconditioned pallets for the Group. Our large sales team in Rotherham is equipped with the very latest customer-focused IT technology, which means we are able to handle all enquiries from here with maximum speed and efficiency. As all pallets are now centrally controlled, we can offer exceptional on-the-spot deals relating to new or re-conditioned pallets. "
The expansion has come about as a result of Whirlowdale's new pallet management solution Palogistics. The extensive experience of Whirlowdale's staff – each having access to a nationwide network of distribution centres – enables this system to offer customers a highly efficient and flexible service covering the lease, sale and re-purchase of an extensive range of different pallet products.
Andrew Pearce continues: "Very few pallet handling businesses are able to offer such a comprehensive level of service. The recycling side of our business means we can offer a 360 degree service to customers as well as the very best deals available."
