Paneltex apprentice wins local college award

In front of a packed audience of over 300 people at Hull College where he studies, Aiden Toomey, a first-year apprentice at leading refrigerated bodybuilder Paneltex, was awarded the trophy for being 'The best first-year student on a welding and fabrication course at NVQ Level 2'.

The trophy was presented to Aiden by the Lady Mayoress of Hull Ms Leanne Fudge, as part of an annual award ceremony held at Hull College in June.

Aiden Toomey is one of the first year apprentices at Paneltex and his abilities were also recently recognised when he represented Hull College in a skills competition, between colleges throughout Yorkshire that took place earlier in Bradford.

"Aiden is indeed a skilful and talented individual who thoroughly deserves this recognition. It is been a pleasure to provide Aiden with mentoring, guidance, support and advice during his first year with the company," said Howard Charlesworth from Paneltex.
