Panther Warehousing launches Saturday service

Warwickshire-based Panther Warehousing has extended its delivery service offering to six days a week as it seeks to meet the demands of increased business and to accommodate the hectic schedules of the modern-day consumer.

The launch of the new Saturday service is now up and running and the move comes just weeks after Panther expanded into the one-man assisted delivery market together with the opening of new depots in Peterlee, in the north east and Taunton, in the south-west to further extend its offering.

With household furniture and appliances accounting for the bulk of Panther’s business – the company also offers B2B delivery – the company took the decision to operate six days a week in order to continue meeting the demands of contemporary shopping trends.

Colin McCarthy, Managing Director of Panther, said: "Life in 2013 is incredibly fast-paced. The advent of the internet and email, coupled with smartphones, tablets and other channels of cyber communication, has resulted in us all living our lives on the go, especially our work lives, in effect taking out the majority of our time on Monday to Friday.

"For many people gone are the days when they could afford to take a half-day or a whole day off work to sit at home waiting for furniture or appliances to arrive – whether it be a new kitchen suite, washing machine or dining table and chairs. As we lead increasingly busy lives it becomes more frustrating having to call a halt to our work priorities as we sit at home waiting for deliveries. We recognise that our customers want a service that will bring minimum disruption to their own customers’ working lives."

It is Panther’s approach of constantly reviewing its service offering, ensuring it stays several steps ahead of the consumer mindset, that is resulting in spiraling demand for its service among retailers. Every Panther customer benefits from its fast, efficient, reliable service, winning sales on the back of its offering against their rivals who are unable to match the speed and reliability of its service.

The company’s forward-thinking approach, coupled with its unrivalled service, has won the company £35 million of new business in the last 12 months alone as retailers seek to take advantage of the Panther difference.

The service offering means that goods requiring two-man or one-man assisted delivery ordered online up to 6.30pm in the evening can be delivered to any address in England, Wales or lower Scotland from as early as 7am the next day, or within 48 hours for central and northern Scotland.

The launch of the new Saturday service perfectly demonstrates Panther’s flexible approach as it seeks to enhance its customers’ offering and add value to their business.
