The PD Ports Group is delighted to announce it has won the prestigious Development of People award from leading transport industry organisation the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
The ports and logistics company was announced as the winner of the award at
a glittering ceremony held at the Hotel Grosvenor Square in London on 18 October.
The award was presented to David Robinson, Chief Executive of PD Ports Group,
byManaging Director & President of GKN Freight ServicesJohn M Gillam.
Mr Robinson said: "To win this prestigious award is a real honour. We pride
ourselves on our Group wide training and development programmes, so are delighted that our efforts are being recognised by such a well respected organisation.
"The programmes we have implemented over the last few years are designed to
provide employment opportunities to the Teesside community, give everyone in
the organisation the opportunity to develop and progress within the company
and ensure our team have the tools they need to offer our customers the industry leading services they require.

team across its business platform to develop not only on Teesside but across
its operational bases in the UK."
Judges said: "PD Ports has a variety of bespoke training and development interventions in order to ensure its workforce is equipped to provide a first-class service to customers."
In the past 10 years, PD Ports has invested over £4 million in training and
development programmes, including apprenticeship, graduate, H&S and back to
work schemes.
Currently, 926 of 1250 employees working for PD Ports are undertaking some
form of training and development, this equates to 74% of PD Ports current workforce.
