PDM to cook up a storm

with new waste oil collection and handling service. PDM Group has announced the launch of Oilsense, a new used cooking oil management system.

The Oilsense system enables safe changing and disposal of used cooking oil by removing the need for manual handling.

Oilsense also provides safe storage of waste oil on-site, and reduces the number of waste oil collections from the premises through use of a fully automated electronic stock control system. The Oilsense solution benefits the caterer by improving health and safety in the workplace as well as addressing wider carbon footprint and other environmental concerns.

“Oil changes only take a few seconds using the Oilsense system, so it's now practical to change different fryers on different days as the oil becomes spent,” explains PDM Director Rupert Checkley. “This will optimise oil use and prevent throwing away good oil.”

PDM also provides a 'one-stop shop' collection and recycling service for all food waste products and a used cooking oil collection and recycling service. Both wastes are used for biofuel or energy production.

Commercial Services Director Philip Simpson says, “The PDM Group has an expanding range of services on offer to the food service industry, and with the increasing interest we are receiving from this sector, For further information about Oilsense or any of the waste management services PDM provides, visit www.pdm-group.co.uk or call the PDM customer care line on 01254 395716.
