Lytx Europe Ltd., a global leader in delivering driver safety and compliance solutions, today announced the deployment of the DriveCam powered by Lytx™ Programme with Peerless Beverage, a major US beer distributor. Confident that the DriveCam® Programme would meet their needs based on references from other distributors, Peerless Beverage skipped the trial phase and deployed the DriveCam Programme throughout its entire fleet.
"The DriveCam Programme became essential as our fleet insurance costs rose," said Marc Kramer, general manager, Peerless Beverage. "By implementing a long-term solution focused on improving human behaviour using an active coaching programme, we now have the ability to continuously improve our safety as well as control costs."
"We are honoured that confidence in the DriveCam Programme inspired Peerless Beverage to go straight to full implementation; it’s a real testament to the effectiveness of our video-based safety technology and the real-world results the DriveCam Programme provides," said Adam McCarty, Lytx business manager. "We look forward to supporting Peerless Beverage in realising the Programme’s full benefits, and rapidly meeting their safety improvement and claims reduction goals."
Lytx UK General Manager Paul Jones added, "We are delighted that Peerless recognised the positive immediate impact that our driver safety programme can deliver. We plan to work with UK food and drink fleets to help them realise similar benefits and enjoy improved safety performance year after year."
DriveCam powered by Lytx helps to prevent incidents, reduce injuries and save lives by combining video with predictive analytics, real-time driver feedback and coaching, empowering fleets to identify and correct the behaviours that lead to 90% of collisions. A new Virginia Tech study shows that more than 800 lives could be saved each year using video-based driver safety technology, and that the DriveCam Programme alone could prevent more than 25,000 commercial vehicle collisions and nearly 40,000 injuries annually.
Using the patented Lytx Engine™, the DriveCam Programme identifies and prioritises risk so fleets can focus on the drivers who need the most coaching. The DriveCam Video Event Recorder, placed on a vehicle’s windshield, captures video of risky driving events such as hard-braking, cornering, and following too close, and uploads them wirelessly to the DriveCam Review Centre. There, certified professionals review and score the events in a consistent manner and pass them on to the fleet for use in coaching drivers.
Fleets manage the DriveCam Programme through the DriveCam Online® cloud-based platform, which includes reporting capabilities that enable quick analysis of safety and performance trends. This helps fleets to effectively manage and coach drivers to become safer and more efficient, thereby significantly reducing collision and fuel costs as well as vehicle wear and tear.
