PepsiCo commits to Norbert Dentressangle until 2020

PepsiCo BeLux has extended its long-standing partnership with Norbert Dentressangle in Belgium for a further seven years, recognising nearly 20 years of service excellence.

Originally appointed by PepsiCo BeLux in 1998, Norbert Dentressangle is responsible for the storage and handling of a range of food products for distribution to PepsiCo’s customers throughout Belgium.

Norbert Dentressangle operates a dedicated 18,550 sq m site in Veurne, adjacent to PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay Smiths manufacturing facility which makes crisps and other snack products. To support the high volume, fast moving manufacturing operation, Norbert Dentressangle has invested with PepsiCo in automated intake, storage and retrieval and outbound systems, capable of handling 1,820 inbound and 1,560 outbound pallets per day, with just two hours from production to despatch at peak times.

Norbert Dentressangle’s Veurne warehouse handles more than 600,000 pallets and picks 1.4 million cases per year for PepsiCo BeLux. In addition to product from PepsiCo’s Veurne facility, Norbert Dentressangle also handles product from PepsiCo factories in the UK and Netherlands for distribution to the Belgian market.

Norbert Dentressangle also carries out a range of value added activities, including assembly of display systems, re-labelling for promotions and co-packing, re-packing more than 300,000 units in 2013 to meet the specific requirements of PepsiCo’s retail customers.

PepsiCo is the second-largest food and beverage company in the world, with annual revenues of $66 billion. Its operations in Belgium and Luxembourg – which include the distribution of carbonated drinks and fruit juices, sports drinks, cold soups, chips, salted snacks, nuts, cereals and crackers under numerous well-known brands – comprise a head office in Zaventem, near Brussels, and two manufacturing plants: Tropicana in Zeebrugge, and Lay’s, Smiths and Doritos in Veurne.
