Having played a lead role in the rapid expansion of GT Radial and Primewell in European truck and bus markets, Peter Foulkes has been promoted to Marketing Director Europe – Commercial Tires at GiTi Tire.
Foulkes, who joined the company in 2006 as Marketing Manager, has been responsible for the successful implementation of an expansive product development programme with all tyres designed and manufactured to European specifications.
All new products are the result of the company’s advanced testing and evaluation programme with more than 1,000 tyres on field test across Europe at any one time. All casings are designed for retreading using both cold and hot processes.
GiTi Tire began truck and bus tyre manufacturing in 2001 and entered the European market in 2004 since when the company, with the GT Radial and Primewell brands, has established itself as the fourth largest producer of commercial vehicle tyres in the world.
Previously Foulkes worked for Goodyear Dunlop as Operations Manager Truck SBU, having originally held the role of General Sales Manager Truck SBU.
Foulkes said: "Over the past six years both the GT Radial and Primewell brands have made a huge impact in the European market, primarily due to our strategy of offering advanced products in a wide range of sizes at attractive price points with excellent service and technical back up.
"Research, development and meeting the needs of the market are paramount concerns, and we have a very comprehensive new product stream to be launched between now and 2014. I look forward to implementing this programme in the new role."
