PPS Equipment Management launch new Euro-Pallet Exchange System

PPS Equipment Management Ltd, in partnership with Europe's largest pallet exchange organisation – PAKi-Logistics GmbH, are to launch a new service for exporters using wooden Euro-Pallets. The new Euro-Pallet Exchange System has already demonstrated customer cost savings of up to 60% with increased handling and management efficiencies.

According to customers individual requirements, PPS Equipment Management supplies the exact required number of Euro-Pallets to an agreed UK location on a specific date/time in order for goods to be despatched to virtually any point in Europe. By using the PPS Euro-Pallet Exchange System, customers are not faced with major purchasing investments and management of pallet pools is simplified, as this is undertaken by the PPS Central Planning.

Already, some 1,000 active PAKi-Logistics clients – such as freight forwarders and large industrial enterprises in the field of automotive, electronics, foodstuffs and pharmaceutical are utilising the proven service throughout Europe.

PPS Equipment can deliver any condition of Euro-Pallet including new and kiln dried. On dispatch of unit loads from the UK to a place of destination in Europe, product can be off-loaded and the same number of pallets can be returned to any one of 10,000 collection points throughout the continent. PPS debit and credit all transactions on account and through pallet notes, take pallets back from the forwarder – Europe-wide and also in small amounts.

PPS Director Iain McArthur commented, “The Euro-Pallet Exchange System provides a very cost effective alternative for UK exporting companies and freight forwarders, with the added advantage and confidence of knowing they are dealing with a proven system already established and successfully operating throughout Europe.”

“Customers only pay a simple exchange fee and avoid any costly investment and ongoing management of a pallet pool system.

By utilising the Euro-Pallet Exchange System this also eliminates the unproductive cost of returning containers of empty pallets. The more extensive customers demands are on pallet administration, the greater the savings will be using the new PPS system.”
