Productive Power

One of the UK's leading electricity distribution businesses has received a power boost from Toyota forklift distributor, M&W Toyota Handling.

M&W Toyota Handling has supplied powerful diesel trucks with five tonne and seven tonne lifting capacities to Western Power Distribution (WPD) in Exeter and Barnstaple.

Delivering electricity to 2.5 million customers in South West England, and South and West Wales, WPD requires high performance forklifts to transport large reels of cable around its depots.

Jim Kittle, WPD Stores Manager said: “By working in partnership with M&W Toyota Handling we can be assured of high quality trucks and a very effective after-sales service which is tailored to our needs. The forklifts provide safe and accurate handling which ensures our drivers can operate as efficiently as possible.”

Daniel Heathcote, Major Accounts Manager, M&W Toyota Handling comments: “We have provided WPD with an after-sales package which includes a full, three-year warranty. With a service network that covers the whole of the South West, we will maximise uptime and provide a service engineer who can attend to trucks in under three hours.”
