The Freight Transport Association is pleased to announce new appointments in its policy and representation work in the area of non-road transport - rail, sea and aviation.
Christopher Snelling has joined FTA as Head of Rail Freight and Global Supply Chain Logistics Policy. Following work at the House of Commons, Christopher was a public affairs consultant with APCO UK from 1998 until 2005, followed by a spell as Public Affairs Manager at RAC/Norwich Union. He will be responsible for all rail, maritime and aviation policy matters together with related transport buyer issues and reports to Chris Welsh, FTA's General Manager - Policy Campaigns.
Chris MacRae, who joined FTA in 1993, becomes Rail Freight and Global Supply Chain Logistics Policy Manager, reporting to Christopher Snelling. In addition to rail, maritime and aviation policy matters Chris will retain his existing responsibilities in respect of dangerous goods policy, both national and international, and will also take responsibility for transport health and safety policy.
Chris Welsh said, 'The creation of these new appointments marks a fundamental strengthening of FTA's work in the non-road freight transport sector. I am delighted that our work will benefit not only from the activities of Christopher Snelling and Chris MacRae, but also supported by our team of highly experienced policy personnel operating at head office, throughout the UK and in Brussels.'
