Raymond Brown Group of Ringwood in Hampshire has made another substantial investment ordering twelve new Volvo machines which will be deployed across the company’s construction, aggregates and waste solutions divisions.
This latest package of machines with a value of circa £2M represents a partial replacement plan but also an increment to the Group’s overall mobile fleet and continues a long standing tradition of operating Volvo equipment – chosen thanks to the reliability of the product along with an extremely attractive package according to Group Chief Executive, Kelvin White. “We’ve been associated with Volvo equipment for over 25 years,” he said. “In our opinion the quality of build and overall performance coupled with impressive operating costs, are amongst the reasons why we choose Volvo.”
Four fourteen tonne EC140E crawler excavators have gone to work for the Group’s construction division, two in standard configuration, one featuring an optional dozer blade and the fourth machine benefitting from the addition of rubber blocks bolted to the standard track plates. The machines will be deployed for general ground and enabling works on the company’s construction sites with the machine on blocks being used specifically on finished tarmac surfaces.
Joining the Raymond Brown Minerals & Recycling Division are a 22 tonne EC220E and its larger brother the 30 tonne EC300E crawler excavator along with two new Volvo L120Hs and an L150H wheeled loader. These machines will be located at various facilities across the south of England.
The business has also ordered three new excavators for its A303 Materials Recycling Facility, located in Hampshire. These include an EW210D wheeled materials handling excavator featuring a bespoke, straight boom and dipper arm arrangement, hydraulically elevating cab and a rotating selector grapple.
Joining the wheeled machine is a 22 tonne crawler excavator, again, featuring a hydraulically elevating cab and an ECR88D reduced swing excavator which is the largest in the line-up of Volvo compact excavators. These machines will be located at the materials recycling facility, sorting and loading a range of waste material for the picking lines, stockpiling and loading out high sided bulkers for onward processing.
All of the new machines have been supplied with Volvo’s Blue service agreements which will ensure they will be regularly maintained by Volvo trained engineers using genuine Volvo parts.
The Raymond Brown Group has been operating as a successful independent company in the aggregates, waste recycling and construction sectors for over 60 years. The company operates other Volvo equipment in a fleet of over 40 excavators and 300 items of plant in total. This new ensemble joins existing Volvo machines, some of which were purchased in 2014 for Raymond Brown Minerals & recycling Ltd.
