Record high participation in VISTA 2012 - 2013

Final registration figures show record-high interest and participation in VISTA 2012-2013, Volvo Trucks' and Volvo Buses' world championships for service and workshop personnel.

When registrations for VISTA 2012-2013 closed, more than 17,000 people in 4,490 teams had signed up, making it the biggest in the competition's 55-year history.

"This really shows the level of engagement and pride many of our employees have in their work, and it's reflective of their continuous drive to improve their skills and knowledge," says Johanna Lundberg, Director Technical Training. "The reason why VISTA is so popular - and keeps getting bigger - is because it's such a fun and effective way of learning and developing new skills."

The record increase of more than 3,000 participants above the previous record can be seen worldwide, with Latin America, Asia and the Nordics, the three biggest regions, each registering more than 2,000 participants and surpassing their targets.

The first part of the competition, which consists of three rounds of theoretical questions, takes place from September 2012 to January 2013. The winning teams will then qualify for the local semi-finals. All in all, 32 teams from the original 4,490 teams will compete in the World Final in Volvo's hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden in June 2013.
