Recruitment company launches logistics job board

Bristol, UK-based recruitment specialist DBC Group is branching out with the

launch of Logistics Job Shop, its new dedicated online job board for the

logistics and supply chain sectors.

www.LogisticsJobShop.co.uk covers all elements of staffing and employment

for permanent, temporary and contractual jobs and also addresses assessment,

training and consultancy specifically for the logistics industry in the UK

and Europe.

"Having spent most of my career in logistics before setting up a traditional

recruitment company, I believe the timing is right to launch an online job

board as I feel there is a real gap in the market to provide quality

employment opportunities for the logistics and supply chain sectors", says

David Coombes, Managing Director of Logistics Job Shop.

The logistics industry currently employs over 2.3 million people in the UK,

which accounts for approximately 8% of the UK working population.

Around 25% of all recruitment in the UK is now done online, and the company

is also aiming to capitalise on the growth in social networking to reach its

target candidate audience. Online recruitment is expected to overtake

offline by the end of 2012.

"It's clear that the recruitment industry needs to be online as this will be

how the 18-34 age group in particular will source jobs - so we see it as a

natural extension of our services", says David Coombes.

The online job board model is easy to use and suits the demands of today's

busy employers looking for a simple forum to place jobs, as well as

candidates researching opportunities online. Logistics Job Shop will also

offer CV and consultancy services.

"We see Logistics Job Shop becoming a focal point for the logistics and

supply chain industry and providing an online forum and centre of excellence

for impartial advice about the sector", David adds.

Logistics Job Shop is owned by DBC Group and is actively supported by

Keswick Enterprises, a UK-based private equity company focused on supply

chain-related businesses.
