Red Funnel partners with island based logistics specialist to enhance parcel distribution service

Red Funnel is partnering with Acclaim Logistics, the Isle of Wight and Southampton based parcel delivery specialist, to offer a unique door to door distribution service to customers on both sides of the water.

Launching in April 2016, Acclaim’s new service will boast an impressive 20 vehicle crossings per day, facilitating same day delivery on the Island for any parcels received into their Southampton or Cowes Receiving Centres before noon.

What’s more, Island-based customers can now choose between the current Port-to-Port service and an enhanced door-to-door offering, negating the need to collect parcels from the West Cowes pickup point.

The rebooted service will ultimately operate extended hours, a Saturday service and provide options for larger, heavier and palletised freight.

Jonathan Green, Marketing and Sales Director at Red Funnel, said: “Red Funnel works to provide a seamless service for our customers and this partnership will ensure an efficient link between the Island and the mainland. The new door-to-door service will prove invaluable to businesses who operate on both sides of the water.”

Acclaim’s Managing Director, Mark Robinson said: “Our partnership with Red Funnel represents a huge step towards offering businesses and consumers a fast, efficient distribution service between the Isle of Wight and the mainland.  These services, combined with our membership of the Palletways and APC distribution networks, provide all of the tools required to offer our customers a comprehensive, high-quality solution for their freight needs”.

Acclaim Logistics is based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight and has been operating for 23 years. Their membership of Europe’s largest pallet network, Palletways, and biggest independent parcel network, APC, means that they are well-placed to ensure safe and secure delivery – on time, every time.
