Operating at a belt speed of one metre per second, Caljan FastTrack telescopic conveyor supplies two operators, working in unison, with a steady influx of parcels. Optimal working conditions are ensured by an ergonomic and safe design.
Prompt Return on Investment
Installing Caljan FastTrack in a new terminal building means that you can manage your target capacity with fewer doors. Your building budget can be reduced for each door you save. Incorporating Caljan FastTrack into in-feed lines means that you can increase capacity in existing terminals too. The number of conveyors installed can also be reduced if Caljan FastTrack is fitted on a rail carriage. It can then service several doors by moving parallel to the loading bay. With an extendibility of 15.3 metres, this rugged telescopic conveyor can reach into all standard trucks, ensuring that the loading process is ergonomic, as well as efficient.
Ergonomic and Safe to Operate
Replacing a roller loader or manual process with a belt conveyor is not just a question of speed. External industrial designers have analysed the operators' movements to help us develop a design that physically and functionally provides optimal working conditions. The resulting Caljan FastTrack telescopic conveyor has a gently rounded head - the profile shape favoured by the analysis - with a control panel including joystick, emergency stop etc. on both sides. A steel slide plate enables the operator to turn while the parcel is supported by the conveyor, thus avoiding lifting and rotating simultaneously. Sensors ensure that parcels are withheld until there is space on the slide plate. Not only is the head of the machine designed for two operators, the whole conveyor can be elevated reducing the need to lift.
Developed on the basis of more than 40 years experience with telescopic belt conveyors, Caljan FastTrack complies with European safety regulations pertaining to handling equipment for loose loaded goods. All moving parts are fully shielded by patented underside guarding, brushes or rubber pads to prevent bodily contact. Necessary gaps are restricted to a maximum of 5mm to prevent operators trapping their fingers.
