River Island extends partnership with Yodel for a further three years

Yodel, the UK’s leading independent parcel carrier, has won a contract extension with fashion retailer River Island for a further three years. Operating from over 300 stores around the world and with a strong online presence, River Island is one of the leading retailers on the UK High Street. It has partnered with Yodel on its UK deliveries since May 2008.

River Island has signed up to Yodel’s 24, 48 and 72hr services. Its shoppers benefit from Yodel’s proactive SMS and email alerts, updating them on their delivery, user friendly online tracking and customer service operatives on webchat, phone and social media. The offering complements River Island’s commitment to provide an unparalleled shopping experience for its customers. River Island will also continue to use CollectPlus, Yodel’s joint venture with PayPoint, to allow consumers to collect and return and orders via their local convenience store, newsagent or petrol station.

Commenting on the partnership, Arif Ahmed, logistics director at River Island, said: “We have been working with Yodel for six years, and have been impressed with the partnership approach, service innovation and focus on customer service that they provide. For us, it is important to enable our customers to order late into the evening and receive their goods in time for an event the very next day. Yodel’s agreement to accept later deliveries into their sort centre means that we can now take orders up until 9pm and still offer delivery within 24 hours.”

Dick Stead, executive chairman of Yodel, said: “We are delighted that River Island has chosen to extend its partnership with us for a further three years. It is a great accolade and reinforces our reputation as the partner of choice for retail. Our wide range of services, proven ability to provide solutions and flex to offer uninterrupted service levels throughout the year has ensured the continuation of our relationship.”
