New one system service will allow customers to book online
Geodis Calberson, the UK road transport and logistics division of Geodis, the global logistics solutions provider, is to launch an advanced electronic booking service for all its network shipments.
The e-commerce system will handle both domestic and international shipments and will enhance Geodis Calberson’s service to customers by offering them a "one stop shop" where they can book directly online.
The e-commerce initiative will handle labelling of loads for all of Geodis Calberson’s services and those of its Partners, APC Parcels, the Fortec Pallet Distribution Network, other Geodis companies and Azkar in Europe.
The e-commerce system offering provides customers with one system to process all network shipments and will print labels for all Geodis network products. It will be used to help facilitate the increase of sales of domestic goods for Geodis Calberson.
Benefits will include an increase in the number of shipments Geodis Calberson handles without increasing cost; more pre-labelled goods; better data quantity, reduced warehousing and routing errors; improved warehouse productivity and overall a value added offering to customers who can now have the flexibility of a multi product choice.
Jamie Cuthbert, Managing Director of Geodis Calberson, said: "This is an exciting development which will give our customers an even more seamless service and keep Geodis Calberson at the forefront of the industry.
"Many customers are keen to book online and the new system will enable us to handle more shipments without increased costs and reduce warehouse and routing errors even further.
"Geodis Calberson prides itself on offering every customer the very best bespoke transport and logistics solution, and the e-commerce system is the latest example of our determination to exceed our customers’ expectations."
