Robotic and automated solutions specialist CKF "On The Move"

CKF Systems Ltd, the Gloucester-based engineering company specialising in robotic and automated solutions for manufacturing industry, has completed the purchase of new freehold premises on the Olympus Business Park in Quedgeley. The significant seven figure investment will provide increased floor space of 24,000 sq ft and enable a company that recently posted its best ever half year results to continue to grow and develop.

“This investment is an important and exciting milestone for CKF,” explains Bryan Wheeler, Managing Director, CKF Systems Ltd. “More and more UK companies are now investing in robot-based systems to reduce production and packaging costs and improve efficiencies. The future opportunities for CKF are considerable both for our ability to design, build and install robotic systems and as a provider of engineering and software expertise.”

CKF is at the cutting edge of new technologies and provides automated solutions for many global brands, particularly within the food and automotive sectors. It is also one of only three Authorised Value Providers for ABB, one of the worlds leading engineering companies. In less than four years the company has doubled its workforce and currently employs around 50 engineers with plans to recruit a further five in the coming months.

“Our new premises will better reflect our industry standing,” continues Bryan. “The new offices will feature the latest IT and telecoms systems and by doubling the floor space we can also add a purpose built training and demonstration facility. The increase in area will also provide an enhanced testing capability for factory acceptance trials and performance tests prior to installation.”

CKF’s new headquarters is located less than a mile from the current premises with improved access to the M5 motorway for staff and customers. The first phase of the move will be completed during September and overall completion is planned for early 2015.

“We have a very loyal and committed team of people at CKF and it was vitally important that we relocated locally to avoid major upheaval,” concludes Bryan. “Our Sales Division will lead the charge over the coming weeks and every member of staff can look forward to an improved working environment that we hope will safeguard our business for many years to come.”
